(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that critically injured a child pedestrian in Kings Park on Saturday, December 5.
An 11-year-old female was walking across Main Street when she was struck by an eastbound van driven by Willian Lopez, 52, of Freeport, at 11 a.m.

The child was airlifted by a Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition. Lopez was not injured.
The van was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
