(Stony Brook, NY) Le Petit Salon de Musique encourages music lovers all over Long Island to join us on Sunday, January 19, 2014, to listen to a selection of the world’s favorite songs performed by Ron and Julie Anne Meixsell, with pianist Doris Anne McMullen. Le Petit Salon patrons raved over last year’s performance by this amazing collaboration of a talented husband and wife vocalist duo with an accomplished pianist. In this repeat appearance, the three will again perform vocal music from classical and operatic sources as well as Broadway tunes including Ol’ Man River and All For the Best.

Doris Anne McMullen, Ron Meixsell, Julie Anne Meixsell
It comes as no surprise that the audience was so enthusiastic, since Ron and Julie Anne Meixsell have performed to rave reviews for more than twenty years, including concerts at The Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center and three seasons with The Sound Symphony Summer Concert Series on Long Island. They currently perform with Long Island’s newest opera ensemble, OperAlive.
Baritone Ron Meixsell has sung for three of our last four presidents and a possible future president in Hilary Clinton. He has leading roles with the New York Grand Opera, Opera on the Sound, The Long Island Opera, and the Manhattan Opera Ensemble, and has sung with other orchestras across America. Adam Horvath of Newsday said of him that “Baritone Ron Meixsell filled the hall with his rich, warm voice.”
Julie Anne Meixsell, is a fabulous soprano whose voice has been featured as part of the Portraits in Motion television series. She has toured as part of an ensemble with Neil Diamond and recorded with Columbia Records. She was the featured soloist with the Long Island String Quartet’s performance of Il Tramonto by Respighi.
Doris Anne McMullen whose piano accompanies the Meixsell’s vocals so perfectly, is a remarkable piano performer whose live and taped music has been broadcast on WQXR, WNYC and the BBC. She has performed with the Long Island Philharmonic and as a concerto soloist with the Suffolk Symphony, Sound Symphony, West Islip Symphony Orchestra, Bay Area Friends of the Fine Arts (BAFFA) and the University Orchestra at Stony Brook University.
