(NEW YORK) The College Democrats of New York today called on Staten Island Congressman Michael Grimm to resign from office in light of his recent verbal attack on Time Warner Cable News New York 1 reporter Michael Scotto.
“This vicious and unprofessional behavior is unbecoming of a Member of Congress representing the State of New York,” said College Democrats of New York President Colin Crowley. “This is not how our state deserves to be represented. The right thing to do is for Congressman Grimm to clear the air of scandal surrounding his time in office and resign. It is time Brooklyn and Staten Island deserve a Congressman they can be proud of.”
Last evening, following President Obama’s State of the Union address, Representative Grimm verbally attacked TWC News NY1 reporter Michael Scotto, threatening to throw him off the capitol balcony and “break him in half like a boy.” The incident was provoked when Scotto asked Grimm to comment on continuing federal investigations into his fundraising practices.
