(Huntington, NY) – Councilwoman Susan A. Berland spoke before an auditorium packed with philanthropic high school students, proud parents and members of the Kiwanis Club of Huntington last Thursday evening to commemorate the chartering of the newest chapter of Key Club International at Harborfields High School. Councilwoman Berland encouraged each member to turn their focus outward and hone their charitable spirit as community leaders.

Key Club International is the largest and oldest student-led service organization for high school students. It provides its members with opportunities to perform community service build character and develop leadership.
“It was an honor and a privilege to celebrate with the charting members of the Harborfields High School Chapter of Key Club International,” commented Councilwoman Berland. “Each student’s commitment to Key Club is an important stepping stone in building their character as philanthropic young adults. As their involvement in Key Club progresses, I know they will grow exponentially in leadership quality and strength of character. Once again, I congratulate each of the founding members, the officers and their proud families.”
