(Huntington, N.Y.) Councilwoman Susan A. Berland attended a retirement celebration to honor Half Hollow Hills High School East faculty and staff with official proclamations from the Town of Huntington Friday morning. Those individuals were Kevin Hill, Susan Hirschmann, Gordon Hodgson, Alex LePore, Gwen Polansky and Lois Stafford.

- Kevin Hill began his career in education 37 years ago and has been with the Half Hollow Hills School District for 36 years.
- Susan Hirschmann began her career in education 35 years ago and has been with the Half Hollow Hills School District for 12 years.
- Gordon Hodgson began his career in education 37 years ago and has been with the Half Hollow Hills School District for 23 years.
- Alex LePore began working as a custodian in the Half Hollow Hills School District 35 years ago.
- Gwen Polansky began working as a paraprofessional 27 years ago and has been with the Half Hollow Hills School District for 22 years.
- Lois Stafford began her career in education 35 years ago and has been with the Half Hollow Hills School District for 32 years.
“Presenting each of these individuals with proclamations from the Town of Huntington was such a pleasure,” commented Councilwoman Berland. “Each of them has added to the rich fabric of the Half Hollow Hills School District in their own unique way be it as an educator or a valuable member of the staff. They will each be greatly missed and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”
