(Huntington, NY) Councilwoman Susan A. Berland paid tribute to the charitable work of Michael Karasik, a sophomore at Huntington High School who has refurbished and distributed $30,000 of computer equipment through his program TechConnect.

Michael began TechConnect after hearing a radio report about computer distribution to needy families in Peru. His program collects and refurbishes older computers for allocation to families in need through the Family Service League in Huntington.
“I was pleased to meet Michael and help spread the word about his great work,” Councilwoman Berland commented. “His program has supplied more than 50 computers to families in need and has made Huntington greener by keeping discarded computers out of landfills. I applaud his work and encourage people to contact Michael to help make a difference.”
