(Huntington, NY) Councilwoman Susan A. Berland honored Maggie Giles, Erica Vazquez and Gaia D’Anna, eighth-graders at J. Taylor Finley Middle School, who raised more than $1000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants the wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. The three sold specially designed holiday cards which feature original artwork. The trio were so successful that a second printing of the holiday cards was required due to their overwhelming popularity.
“Erica, Maggie and Gaia are a great example of how kids can make a difference and how each of us can positively impact the lives of others,” Councilwoman Berland commented. “Their selflessness and charitable efforts are an inspiration to us all.”
