(Huntington, N.Y.) – Councilwoman Susan A. Berland was at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on June 8 to attend the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Thomas Hustedt from Boy Scout Troop 34. The Eagle Scout Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Boy Scout Association of America and is only given upon completion of a rigorous course of set requirements that benefits both the troop and community.

“Earning the Eagle Scout Award is such an honor in a scout’s life and it was a pleasure to recognize Thomas for that achievement,” commented Councilwoman Berland. “An enormous amount of time and effort went into Thomas in this accomplishment. The principles and skills learned in the process of becoming an Eagle Scout last a lifetime. I would like to congratulate Thomas on becoming an Eagle Scout and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
