John Jay LaValle, Chairman of the Suffolk County Republican Committee, along with all the Town Republican Chairmen from the Third Senatorial District, today announced the endorsement of Anthony Senft’s candidacy for NYS Senate in New York’s Third Senatorial District.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement and support of the Republican Committees from Suffolk County, Brookhaven Town and Islip Town,” said Councilman Anthony Senft, Jr. “I’m looking forward to working closely with them to ensure our Conservative /Republican values are represented in Albany.”
Senft, who currently serves as a Concilman from the Town of Islip, was first elected in 2011.
“Anthony Senft is exactly the type of representative the residents of the Third Senatorial District need.” Asserted Chairman LaValle. “His service to his country, while in the United States Army and his service to his community as a Councilman makes me extremely proud to support him. He has a tremendous work ethic and is an independent thinker, which will allow him to have an immediate impact in Albany,” said LaValle.
The Third Senatorial District has over 300,000 residents and includes the Towns of Brookhaven and Islip. The seat is currently held by State Senator Lee Zeldin who is vacating the seat to run for Congress in 2014.
“Councilman Senft’s record for standing up for his constituents is second to none and I am proud to stand with all the Republican Chairmen in the Third Senatorial District in support of his candidacy for State Senate,” said Islip GOP Chairman Frank Tantone. “Anthony will be a strong and effective voice for the people and continue the stellar work begun in this district by State Senator Lee Zeldin.”
“I am proud that once again we have chosen a candidate that has the aptitude and attitude to win this election and continue the fight for Long Island’s fair share of state aid for education. As a State Senator, Anthony Senft will thwart the move to allow the city to disproportionately get too much of our tax dollars,” said Brookhaven Republican Chairman Jesse Garcia.
