(New York, NY) County Executive Bellone will be joined by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office of New York and the Taiwanese American Association of Long Island to proclaim October 10, 2013 as the Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Suffolk County is proud to celebrate the 102nd anniversary of this National Day in honor of the people of Taiwan and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office of New York.
Taiwan is the 11th most important trading partner of the United States and the 7th largest export market of New York in Asia. In 2012, the total value of products exported from New York to Taiwan totaled $1.2 billion.
The ceremony will include a keynote address by Alex Fan, Acting Director-General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office of New York as well as cultural performances by Yuan Ji Dance Association of Long Island and the Long Island Little Dragons Chinese School, Inc.
