“St. Charles Hospital was founded more than 106 years ago to serve individuals with limited resources and those in need of highly specialized health care. This generous donation from Henry Schein Cares helps us to further this mission,” said Jim O’Connor, executive vice president/chief administrative officer, St. Charles Hospital.
“More than 48 private practice dentists and oral health specialists from the area volunteer their expertise to treat patients in the clinic and educate the dental residents. This donation from Henry Schein Cares’ Global Product Donation Program ensures our practitioners have the appropriate dental products on hand for exams, cleanings and fillings, dentures, restorative and urgent care,” explained Keri A. Logan, DMD, Director, Dental Residency Program, Stephen B. Gold Dental Clinic, St. Charles Hospital.
The Dental Clinic at St. Charles provides individuals with more than 6,000 patient visits per year. Ten percent of patients served are children while individuals with developmental and physical disabilities account for more than 50 percent of total patient volume. The Dental Clinic’s general practice residency program prepares post-doctoral students from schools across the North East with clinical, didactic and hospital experience.
