(Woodbury, NY) EAC Network is pleased to announce that it has received a $7,500 donation from Angela S. Anton of Anton Community Newspapers, a print media company based in Mineola NY, in support of the agency’s 14th Annual LIGHT OF HOPE Luncheon. The donation, along with funds generated at the LIGHT OF HOPE Luncheon, will help support the agency’s many programs and services throughout Long Island and the New York Metro area. Angela, publisher of one of Long Island’s highly acclaimed group of community newspapers, was honored at the event along with fellow honoree Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano for their service and commitment to the community. “We are very grateful and proud of Angela and Anton Community Newspapers for their kind and gracious donation,” commented Lance W. Elder, President and CEO of EAC Network. “Their generosity and spirit are truly making a difference in our communities.” A Long Islander born and bred on the North Shore, Angela is dedicated to helping fellow Long Islanders. She enjoys the many unique and exciting things that Long Island offers and is raising three children in the community she loves.
EAC Network’s LIGHT OF HOPE Luncheon, presented by Bethpage Federal Credit Union was held on Wednesday, March 12th, 2014 at the Crest Hollow Country Club and raised almost $115,000. It is EAC Network’s largest annual fundraising event.

Proceeds support EAC Network’s 70 programs that protect at-risk children, support senior citizens, help people with mental health and substance abuse problems, educate people seeking financial independence, assist individuals who are under or unemployed, mediate disputes, and work with families in crisis. Last year, EAC Network helped over 57,400 people.
