(RIVERHEAD, NY) East End Arts is thrilled to announce their Spring Gala, titled ARTworks 2014, to be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM, at the Sea Star Ballroom in Riverhead, NY. The celebratory evening will honor long-time East End Arts supporters Içim and Mark Miller of Miller Environmental Group. Proceeds from this fundraising event help support East End Arts’ mission to build and enrich our community through the arts by way of education, support, advocacy, and inspiration, as well as providing art and music lesson scholarships to area children.

Içim and Mark Miller have been members of East End Arts’ Advisory Council for several years and major patrons of East End Arts and the community the organization serves. The Millers support programming in myriad ways; most recently giving East End Arts’ string students the opportunity to perform under the baton of world-famous, internationally acclaimed violin virtuoso and conductor Itzhak Perlman at Southold High School, alongside the students of the prestigious Perlman Music Program Student Orchestra in 2012 and 2013. This opportunity was a priceless experience for these young learners, and will inspire them for years to come.
This fundraising event will feature:
- Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres;
- Live and silent auctions with Nick Dawes, VP of Special Collections at Heritage Auctions and frequent appraiser on PBS’ ‘Antiques Roadshow’;
- Dinner and dancing to the music of the Trevor Davison Orchestra.
Highlights of the auctions include artwork by some of the East End’s most renowned artists as well as exclusive East End and NYC experiences and memorabilia. Tickets start at $150 per person, and the deadline to reserve is May 2, 2014. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Last year’s event sold out in advance of the deadline so we encourage everyone to reserve sooner than later!

The lead sponsor for the ARTworks 2014 Gala is the Miller Family, with additional support from Denise and Jim Martin, Cruso Associates, Inc., the Salice Family, BNY Mellon Wealth Management, The Graham Corporation, Mona and Jim Lennon, Peconic Landing, Suffolk County National Bank, Empire National Bank, Honda Motorcycles of Riverhead, Ivy Acres, Marion and Bob Jones, Kinloch Consulting Group Inc., OMD US, Riverhead Building Supply, and The Riverhead Project.
East End Arts invites members of the press to attend and cover the event. Please notify East End Arts if you are available during cocktail hour (6:30 PM to approximately 7:30 PM) by emailing Stephanie.smith@eastendarts.org by May 12.
Last year’s hugely successful gala celebrated over 40 years of East End Arts, honoring community supporters Alice and Jack Van de Wetering and gallery owner Peter Marcelle, with a sold-out venue and a successful art auction by area artists. We expect this year to be even more of a success!
