(Long Island, NY) The East End Tourism Alliance is ready for a great day on the Peconic River in Riverhead, as the third Annual Paddle Battle commences on Saturday morning, July 18th. Contenders in kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards will take each other on with a variety of races starting at 9 am. Registration begins at 7:30am and takes place along the riverfront at McDermott Avenue.
Bryan DeLuca, President of EETA is thrilled with the turnout this year “We’ve doubled in size with regards to participants. And this year, we’re really pleased to introduce the Corporate Challenge to Paddle Battle which benefits the United Way of Long Island VetsBuild for local veterans and military families as well as the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation.” Some of the four person corporate teams include representatives from Pepsi, National Grid, Riverhead Building Supply and PSEG to name a few.
Immediately following Paddle Battle, EETA is hosting the first annual RiverCraft Beverage Festival on the East End Arts Lawn. With more than 20 craft beverage beer, wine and hard ciders makers from all over New York, plus live music, craft vendors, games and food trucks, this event is sure to please all craft beverage lovers. Tickets are available at Eventbrite or at the door. This festival runs through 4:30pm.

The East End Tourism Alliance (EETA) was formed in 2008 as a non-profit membership corporation under the laws of New York. Its purpose is the promotion of the East End region as a travel destination for visitors, meetings, weddings, seasonal vacations, also day trip and overnight stays. The organization will design, develop and operate Eastendgetaway.com website to provide a seamless planning tool for visitors and will allow participating members to promote their business on a regional travel site.
In addition to managing eastendgetaway.com, EETA will support website traffic through marketing and public relation strategies that will stimulate cross marketing efforts for all members. EETA is designed to support extension of the tourism shoulder seasons throughout the region to ultimately foster economic growth.
