(Long Island, NY) The First Squad reports the details of an arrest for Grand Larceny that occurred from December 16, 2013 until February 22, 2015 in Freeport.
According to detectives, defendant David Bevilacqua, 36, of East Meadow was employed as a shipping clerk at Green Art Plumbing in Freeport. The owners of the company began to notice plumbing items missing from the warehouse. After an internal investigation, the owners found that the above defendant was responsible and terminated his employment in February 2015. After the termination, owners began to notice additional plumbing supplies missing and contacted police for further investigation.

Detectives determine that defendant Bevilacqua would post several plumbing items on EBay and would ship the stolen merchandise to various unknowing buyers across the country. The defendant would then receive payment for the items through a PayPal account. The company’s loss is in excess of $50,000.00. The defendant was placed under arrest on Friday, July 3, 2015 at his home.
Defendant Bevilacqua is being charged with Grand Larceny 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday, July 04, 2015 at First District Court- 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
