(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police on Monday, August 31 arrested an 87-year-old Lloyd Harbor man for public lewdness after he attempted to lure children with candy.
Galip Gulmez was sitting in his grey 2011 Subaru when he offered candy to children that were nearby at West Neck Beach in Lloyd Harbor on August 10, at approximately 2 p.m. A woman who was with the children approached the Subaru to intervene and noticed Gulmez was not wearing pants and masturbating.

After an investigation, Second Squad detectives arrested Gulmez, of Lloyd Harbor, at his home at approximately 1 p.m. today. He was and charged with Public Lewdness and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He will be held at the Second Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 1.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
