(GARDEN CITY, NY) Are you considering a career as a nurse practitioner, medical doctor, dentist, healthcare administrator, pharmacist or veterinarian? Adelphi University will present an open campus event to help you get started on your journey.
The Office of Pre-Professional Advising and Fellowships will co-host a Graduate Health Opportunities Fair in partnership with the University’s Center for Health Innovation and the Center for Career Development. The event will take place in the Ruth S. Harley Ballroom in the University Center, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, Long Island on Tuesday, October 22 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Learn more about where your bachelor’s degree can take you in the ever-growing healthcare field.
This program is open to all Adelphi students as well as anyone in the area considering higher education and graduate studies in the health industry. Visitors will get to meet leaders and gather information from Adelphi’s own graduate level programs from the Center for Health Innovation, College of Nursing and Public Health and the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies. Representatives for the post Baccalaureate certificate program, Master’s Degree in Biology, Master of Science in Public Health, Master of Science in Nutrition, Healthcare Informatics, Mental Health Counseling will be available to answer your questions. The University’s Center for Career Development will also be on hand to talk about the various internships Adelphi students can take advantage of in this high-job growth field. This event will also feature information on scholarships for those in the Armed Services.
The day will feature seminars on OMM-Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine from the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine; Diversity and Inclusion in Medicine with Adam Aponte, MD from Hofstra University/LIJ School of Medicine; The Personal Statement with Hinda Barlaz of Adelphi University’s Learning Center; The Physician Assistant with Audra Perrini, MS of SUNY Stony Brook University and The Nurse Practitioner with Adelphi University’s College of Nursing and Public Health.
