Heather Harrison to be Honored by Touro Law Center as a Public Interest Attorney of the Year
(Long Island, NY) Farrell Fritz litigation associate Heather P. Harrison will be honored as a Public Interest Attorney of the Year at Touro’s annual Good & Services Auction to be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. The Public Interest/Pro-Bono Attorney of the Year Program at the Goods & Services Auction honors and recognizes attorneys who devote their time to those in need through their pro-bono efforts.
Ms. Harrison, a Forest Hills, NY resident, concentrates her practice on labor and employment law. She has volunteered her skills to advise many not-for-profit organizations on a pro bono basis by providing counsel on a full array of human resources-related issues. This has included preparing employee handbooks, updating employment policies, providing advice on job classification and other employment-related issues. The organizations she has assisted include Flushing Town Hall, Habitat for Humanity, Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation, Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Queens Chamber of Commerce, Queens Theater in the Park, Sacred Heart Academy and Wellness in the Schools. Ms. Harrison also serves on the pro bono panel for United States District Court, Eastern District and enjoys participating in the Volunteer Lawyer Program at Landlord/Tenant Court in Hempstead District Court.
Ms. Harrison earned her Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law and her Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta.
