(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota and Martin Flatley, Chief of the Southold Town Police Department will update the media tomorrow, Monday, July 20 at the Southold Police Department HQ on the investigation of the fatal crash on County Route 48 and Depot Lane in Cutchogue that killed four women on Saturday.
The news conference is scheduled for 12:30 pm.
Steven Romeo, 55, was arraigned Sunday at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport and ordered held in lieu of $500,000 cash bail or $1 million bond. He pleaded not guilty to one count of driving while intoxicated. He remains hospitalized.
Southold Police today identified the four women who were killed as: Brittany Schulman, 23, and Lauren Baruch, 24, both of Smithtown; Stephanie Belli, 23, of Kings Park; and Amy Grabina, 23, of Commack.
The injured women are Joelle Dimonte, 25, of Elwood, Melissa Angela Crai, 23, of Scarsdale, Alicia Arundel, 24, of Setauket, and Olga Lipets, 24, of Brooklyn.
The agencies investigating the crash are the District Attorney’s Vehicular Crimes Bureau, Southold Town PD, SCPD Vehicular Crimes Unit and the NY State Police.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
