(Long Island, NY) The Fifth Precinct reports the arrest of a male for Burglary that occurred on October 01, 2015, October 3, 2015, January 20, 2016 and February 5 and 26, 2016 in Westbury and Franklin Square.
According to detectives, after an investigation, on March 29, 2016 officers from the Bureau of Special Operations responded to Queens Central Booking (unrelated incident in New York City) and placed under arrest defendant Jeffrey W. Waiksnis, 39, of Floral Park for the following burglaries:
- October 01, 2015 – Walgreens -15 Old Country Road, Westbury, approximately 200 cases of beer were taken by the defendant.
- October 3, 2015 – Walgreens – 15 Old Country Road, Westbury, approximately 8 (12) packs of beer were removed.
- January 20, 2016 – CVS- 610 Old Country Road, Westbury, approximately $4500 worth of assorted cosmetics.
- February 5, 2016 – CVS- 640 Franklin Avenue, Franklin Square, approximately 226 bottles of nail polish.
- February 26, 2016- CVS-640 Franklin Avenue, Franklin Square, approximately $420 worth of socks and nail polishes.

Defendant Waiksnis is being charged with 3 counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Petit Larceny. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
