(Long Island, NY) The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of four individuals for a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 4:18 a.m. in Elmont.
According to detectives, Fifth Precinct officers responded to a Gotham Avenue address where they discovered a female victim, 29 years of age, bound with duct tape and wires inside the residence. The officers were able to detain four subjects at the scene. A subsequent investigation determined that the subjects had punched, kicked, and sprayed the victim with mace along with taking her cell phone, credit card and driver’s license. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. The following defendants were placed under arrest without incident.

All four defendants are charged with Robbery 2nd degree, two counts of Assault 2nd degree, Strangulation 2nd degree, Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree. They were arraigned on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
