(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Freeport man at 8:50am on Thursday, November 19, 2015 for a Grand Larceny.
According to the Crimes Against Property Squad Detectives, defendant David A. Smith, 32, did open a business banking account in the name of Sports & Luxury Auto Group, Inc. on November 21, 2014.

On February 3, 2015 the defendant deposited a $20,000.00 check into that same account. On February 5, 2015 the defendant did withdraw $15,000.00 from that account and deposited same into his personal account. The check deposited was a fraudulent check and the bank’s total loss was over $16,400.00.
The defendant was located and arrested without incident at his residence.
Defendant David A. Smith is charged with Grand Larceny and was arraigned on Thursday, November 19, 2015 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
