(West Islip, NY) On Sunday, November 3, more than 600 cancer survivors and family members were honored for their strength and courage at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center’s 9th annual Cancer Survivors’ Day held at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. Attendees were motivated by award winning vocalist, entertainer and cancer survivor, Kevin Sharp. In remission since 1991, he is the only Make-A-Wish “wish” child to become the wish request of other kids, bringing his experience with a rare form of cancer full circle. Like many patients diagnosed with cancer, Mr. Sharp is a survivor whose challenging experience has been an inspiration to others.
