(Long Island, NY) On Sunday, November 8, Good Samaritan Hospital’s Annual Cancer Survivors’ Day honored more than 500 cancer survivors and family members. Attendees were inspired by cancer survivor and author Geralyn Lucas whose struggles with breast cancer led to her book, Why I Wore Lipstick To My Mastectomy. The event finished with survivors dancing in a conga line to the song I Will Survive, led by Ms. Lucas.
“Coordination and teamwork are essential in delivering quality cancer care,” said Good Samaritan Hospital’s Chair of the Cancer Committee and Chief of Hematology/Oncology Kenneth Gold, MD. “Our team of cancer experts at Good Samaritan work side by side in providing compassionate life- saving treatment to so many patients. I am grateful to be at Good Sam, for the past 33 years, serving with such professionals.”
