(West Islip, NY) Since 1993, under the leadership of Dr. Paul Mandala, Good Samaritan Hospital’s Graduate Medical Education Department has provided osteopathic residents and interns the ability to fulfill their professional aspirations. Each year a resident is recognized with the Paul S. Mandala Special Achievement Award for their achievements distinguishing themselves by advancing medicine in their respective fields.
This year’s Special Achievement Award recipient was Shannon Weinstein, DO.

Dr. Weinstein earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Emergency Medicine Residency as chief resident at Good Samaritan Hospital in June. She will be an Emergency Room Attending at Broward General & North Broward, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She resides in Bay Shore.
