(West Islip, NY) The cancer registrars at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center will join their colleagues, fellow medical professionals and community leaders in observance of National Cancer Registrars’ Week, April 7 – 11. The theme, “Steadfast in an Evolving Environment,” was chosen to acknowledge how cancer registrars are committed to staying current in the rapidly changing world of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and management.
“Cancer registrars play a pivotal role by capturing data—data used by researchers and medical professionals who are seeking to advance cancer prevention programs and treatment. The efforts of cancer registrars are essential in supporting the cancer program at Good Samaritan. We celebrate National Cancer Registrars Week to honor their important contributions,” said Good Samaritan Hospital Chief of Hemotology/Oncology Kenneth Gold, MD.
