New Web Program Provides Statewide Treatment Bed Availability in Real Time
(Long Island, NY) “New Yorkers struggling with addiction to drugs or alcohol now have an additional resource at their disposal,” said Senator Kemp Hannon (R-Nassau). “A new web-based application will help those seeking treatment by allowing them to search for services and treatment facilities available on a 24/7 basis.”
The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services’ (OASAS) “Bed Availability Dashboard” (https://bi1.oasas.ny.gov/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard) program collects bed availability from State-certified alcohol and substance use disorder treatment providers daily. It will provide this information in real-time in the agency’s website, allowing residents to easily determine treatment bed availability anywhere in New York.

The “Bed Availability Dashboard” allows New Yorkers to search for services in their region, and treatment beds specific to age or gender. Providers will update information about available treatment beds on a 24/7 basis. In the near future, the application will be updated to include outpatient services.
Those struggling with addiction or whose loved ones are struggling, can find help and hope by calling the State’s HOPEline at 1-877-8-HOPENY (1-877-846-7369) or by texting HOPENY (Short Code 467369). One can also locate an OASAS-certified substance use disorder treatment provider on the NYS OASAS Find Help web page (https://www.oasas.ny.gov/accesshelp/index.cfm).
“The ‘Bed Availability Dashboard’ is another needed tool to combat alcoholism and substance abuse in New York,” said Hannon. “As prescription drug and Heroin use and abuse reach epidemic levels, I encourage anyone in need of help to use this important resource. Those struggling with addiction need to know treatment is available, anytime, and with treatment, the chances for recovery are greatly strengthened.”
