(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Hempstead man on Tuesday February 2, 2016 at 7:20 a.m. in Hempstead for Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor.
According to Crimes Against Property Squad detectives, Daniel Arturo Monrroy Pineda, 27, created an account with the social media app “ooVoo” under the screen name “Papi” and made “friend” requests to numerous female juveniles between the ages of 11 and 14.

The victim’s accepted the request where upon Pineda began sending sexually explicit pictures to the victims. A subsequent investigation was conducted which resulted in the arrest of Pineda on Tuesday, February 02, 2016 at 7:20 a.m. in front of his residence.

Pineda is charged with (10) ten counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor 2nd degree and will be arraigned on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
