(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau reports an arrest for Attempted Murder on Wednesday, December 09, 2015.
According to Special Investigations Squad detectives, on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 11:44 P.M., a male victim, 46 years of age, was sitting in a car on Terrace Avenue in Hempstead. Marlon Jones, 37, of Hempstead approached the vehicle and discharged a weapon 14 times at close range, striking the vehicle the victim was sitting in, before fleeing the scene on foot.

On Wednesday, December 09, 2105 at 9:05 A.M. detectives responded to Federal Correctional Institution Schuylkill, Minersville, PA, where the defendant is incarcerated and transported him to Nassau County for arrest processing.
Jones is charged with Murder 2nd degree (Attempt), Assault 1st degree (Attempt), two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st degree and Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree. He was arraigned on Wednesday, December 09, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
