(Long Island, NY) Today, the following statement was released by Assemblyman Edward Hennessey:
“We need better oversight and accountability at LIPA. However, the restructure of LIPA doesn’t go far enough to provide it. This is why I remain very concerned after hearing about another rate increase in just two months.
“It makes little difference to ratepayers what is causing increases to their bills. What does matter to them is the bottom line. We now have a new company, PSEG, transitioning to take charge of management. We need a commitment that our bills won’t skyrocket every few months once the transition is completed. I will continue to fight for ratepayers to see that their best interests are protected.”
