(Long Island, NY) The Second Precinct reports the arrest of a Hicksville man at 12:28pm on Friday, November 27, 2015 in Hicksville.
According to Police, at approximately 11:32am defendant Ajith Sreekumaran, 44, was driving his 2014 Toyota Rav4 with his male son, 15, in the vehicle when he was involved in an auto accident at Bay Avenue and Woodbury Road in Hicksville.

The defendant turned right onto Bay Avenue, went into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle stopped at a red light southbound on Bay Avenue. There were no injuries reported.
Defendant Ajith Sreekumaran is charged with Leandra’s Law Aggravated DWI, DWI and Operating a Motor Vehicle with BAC .08% or more. Sreekumaran was arraigned on Saturday, November 28, 2015 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
