(Long Island, NY) The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Hicksville man on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 12:05 a.m. for Robbery in Hicksville.
According to detectives, a male victim, 22 years of age, was waiting for a ride outside Sears located at 195 N. Broadway on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 7:25 p.m. when Angel M. Sanchez, 17, approached him along with an unidentified male black and female black.

A brief argument began which escalated into physical altercation in which Sanchez began to punch the victim. The other male subject joined Sanchez and threw the victim to the ground. Both continue to punch and stomp on the victim while the female subject filmed the incident on her cell phone. Sanchez took the victim’s cell phone, keys, and a work knife before they fled on foot through the parking lot. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
On Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 12:05 a.m. Sanchez surrendered to Second Squad detectives in Woodbury. He is charged with two counts of Robbery 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
