UPDATE: Jonathan Moore, the man who was arrested after a motor vehicle crash in Holtsville last night, has been additionally charged with Grand Larceny 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, Burglary 3rd Degree and an additional count of Driving While Intoxicated. An investigation by Sixth Squad detectives determined that following the crash, Moore stole a vehicle from Pride Solvents, located at 6 Long Island Ave. in Holtsville, and struck a security gate with the vehicle causing damage at approximately12:20 a.m. Approximately 20 minutes later, he abandoned the stolen vehicle on Route 112 in Patchogue. Moore then burglarized 20th Century Cars, located at 237 Route 112 in Patchogue, in an attempt to locate car keys at 1 a.m. He was located and arrested nearby.
He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.

(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Holtsville on Wednesday, September 2.
A minor crash involving three vehicles occurred on the Express portion of the LIE at 11:44 p.m. The crash resulted in a male driver fleeing the scene on foot. The male driver was pursued on foot by another male and as the two men crossed the South Service Road of the Expressway, another vehicle, driven by a male, struck one of the pedestrians.

The injured male was transported to a local area hospital and is being treated for a serious injury to his leg. Jonathan Moore, 26, of Westbury, the man who initially fled the scene, was later located, arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Incident, DWI and other charges.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
