(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest on an individual for Possession of a Forged Device that occurred on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 9:30 p.m. in Hewlett.
According to detectives, Crimes Against Property Squad detectives responded to the Chase Bank located at 1304 Broadway after being notified by bank security they had discovered a skimmer device in the ATM machine. The detectives observed Vlad Mares 47, no known address, enter the ATM area and remove the device using a small pry bar. The subject was placed under arrest without incident.

Mares is charged with two counts of Possession of a Forged device and Grand Larceny 3rd degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, September 04, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
