(Amityville, NY) On Thursday November 7th, 2013, Hope For Youth will host the Heroes For Hope Gala. The purpose of the Gala is to raise awareness of the ongoing needs for families in crisis as well as abused and neglected youth across Long Island, celebrate the “everyday” heroes who selflessly give of their time and resources to improve the lives of vulnerable children and to raise critical funds in support of the work and mission of Hope For Youth.
This year’s Gala will take place in the iconic Chateau Briand at 440 Old Country Road Carle Place, NY from the hours of 6-10pm. Our program will include highlights of HFY, a special message from Dr. David Hegarty, Executive Director/ CEO and Presentation of Awards. Each year the Gala has grown in its reach and provides opportunity for all to participate in our exquisite raffle or journal.
We will honor Mark Silverman, Esq. with the Elizabeth Bass Golding Award in recognition of his dedicated service as a member of HFY’s Board for over 20 years and serving as Board Chair for the last 15 years. In the spirit of our founder the Hon. Elizabeth Bass Golding, Mr. Silverman has been instrumental in strategically growing the agency to become the leading provider of social services specific for the child welfare and juvenile justice populations on Long Island. We provide comprehensive and innovative programming expanding our reach to over 800 youth and their families in 2012.
In addition, we will announce our Family of the Year Award. This award acknowledges a family that has served vulnerable youth and families in an extraordinary way over the course of the year.
We invite all of our supporters and community members to celebrate with us. To purchase your tickets or sponsorship today call (631) 782-6590 or visit us at www.hfyny.org.
