(Long Island, NY) The First Squad reports the details of an arrest of a Huntington man for Burglary that occurred on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 5:40 PM in East Meadow.
According to detectives, 911 received a call for a burglary in progress at a Francis Drive residence. Upon police arrival a 43 year old male victim stated that he saw an opened front window and heard someone inside the house.

Officers from the First Precinct observed the defendant, Rony Compere, 43, in a Chevrolet Tahoe in front of the residence. The defendant fled scene on foot through rear yards and was placed into custody in the rear of a Brisbane Lane residence. There were no proceeds at this time.
Defendant Compere is being charged with Burglary 2nd degree and Criminal Trespass 3rd degree. He was arraigned on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
