(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police today arrested a man and his two sons on drug and weapons charges following the execution of a search warrant at their Huntington Station home.
As part of the Suffolk County Police Department’s continuing enforcement efforts in Huntington Station, detectives from the Narcotics Section, Second Precinct Special Operations Team, Criminal Intelligence Bureau and officers from the Second Precinct Patrol Section, Second Precinct Gang Unit, Emergency Service Section and Canine Section, executed a search warrant this morning.

A loaded and defaced Tec-9 semiautomatic handgun with a large capacity magazine, along with two other loaded handguns, an imitation pistol, a bulletproof vest and more than 500 rounds of ammunition were recovered. Crack cocaine and marijuana, with a combined street value of approximately $3,000, $3,700 in cash, digital scales, and various drug packaging equipment were also recovered.

Tracy Watkins, 42, a confirmed member of the South Side Posse gang, and his brother, Zachary Watkins Jr., 46, were both charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th Degree and two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree.

Zachary Watkins Sr., 75, was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th Degree and two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree.
Officials from Huntington Town Code Enforcement issued 32 violations for code infractions to Watkins Sr. Code Enforcement officials are continuing their investigation to determine if the home will be declared uninhabitable.
The men will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip tomorrow.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
