(Long Island, NY) The US Census reports that the United States is increasingly becoming a culturally diverse nation. This is leading to a significant growth of multicultural entrepreneurial business owners and companies, which in turn, is producing new opportunities for economic growth and development. In response to these recent trends, the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce is creating a new Multicultural Business Committee designed to increase new business relationships and opportunities within the multicultural sector of business and focus on the increasing growth of the multicultural segment within business and professional communities. The committee’s first meeting will take place on April 30th at 8:30 a.m. at the Chamber office located at 164 Main Street in Huntington.
The purpose of the Huntington Chamber’s Multicultural Business Committee will be to:
- Bridge the gap and foster working relationships between diverse businesses
- Be the voice of diverse businesses
- Educate the community about cultural business diversity
- Outreach to various ethnic communities to attract business to the Town of Huntington
- Provide guidance on issues impacting multicultural businesses
- Promote greater awareness and appreciation of the diversity of cultures represented by local residents
- Provide a platform for strategic business networking within multicultural business communities
“We are excited about establishing this new Multicultural Business Committee and feel that it will have a significant impact and serve as a vital resource and tool within Long Island’s business community,” explained Larry Kushnick, Huntington Chamber Vice-Chairman.
The Committee is open to all multicultural businesses and professionals and for those interested in participating or learning more about doing business with multicultural businesses. For more information, please call Linda Mitchell at the Chamber office at 631-423-6100.
