(Long Island, NY) The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of an Indiana man employed as an Air Traffic Controller in Westbury for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred in Wantagh on Wednesday, December 09, 2015 at 10:22 pm.
According to detectives, officers from the Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team were on patrol when they observed a 2010 Toyota traveling south on Willow Street with dark tinted windows that then turned left onto Byron Street without signaling. Officer’s activated their lights/ siren and pulled the vehicle over on Byron Street in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws.

Upon investigation the defendant Breen Peck, 52, of Redkey, Indiana who was the driver stated to officer are that he had a loaded handgun behind his driver’s seat and another in the rear cargo area of his vehicle and did not have a permit. The defendant was placed into police custody without incident and the handguns were recovered. During a subsequent search of the subject, officer’s discovered a substance believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine in his front pants pocket.
Breen Peck is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and numerous Vehicle Traffic Law violations. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday, December 10, 2015.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
