(Oceanside, NY) Jay Fiedler, former NFL quarterback, including five seasons as a starter with the Miami Dolphins, has been named Director of The Sports Academy at Brookwood Camps. He will implement a world-class coaching program unique to the summer camp industry at the 160 acre facility in Sullivan County, New York. The Fiedler family has owned Brookwood Camps since 1986.

“I’ve spent a lot of time as a camper myself, both as a summer camper and a sports camper,” Jay says, “and I believe that experience is invaluable in creating a healthy and productive environment. “I’m really looking forward to working with campers, helping them grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.”
Campers will receive exposure to a multiple sports and will be coached by world-class athletes under Fiedler’s direction. The Sports Academy is a unique feature in the summer camp industry because it is a sports camp within a traditional summer camp environment. The Sports Academy at Brookwood Camps exposes children to a variety of sports and activities in a healthy manner, while also offering short term specialized training to assess if a particular sport is the right fit for which a child should be focusing more of his/her attention.
Jay had a stellar athletic career at Dartmouth College in both football and track and field while earning a BA Degree in Engineering Sciences. Following graduation, Jay went on to success as a quarterback during a ten year career in the NFL, including five years as a starter for the Miami Dolphins. His path to success is a story of determination and perseverance.
