(Long Island, NY) Jennifer C. Groh of North Babylon has been named the new Director of the Nassau Academy of Law, it was announced today. The Nassau Academy of Law, the educational arm of the Nassau County Bar Association, is an accredited provider of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for attorneys by the New York State CLE Board and is the largest provider of CLE classes on Long Island.

Groh is a certified New York State public librarian and has a background as an information and library services manager and CLE program coordinator for several law firms. She also ran her own candy store business in North Babylon, and was an Outreach/Crisis Counselor for Project Hope Sandy. She received her BA from St. Joseph’s College, MA from New York University and an MS in Library and Information Services from Pratt Institute.
Each year, the Academy organizes and presents more than 100 substantive legal seminars in dozens of practice areas to educate attorneys on the newest developments in the law and to provide the practical skills to enable attorneys to most effectively represent their clients.
The Academy also oversees computer training sessions at NCBA’s Computer Tech Center. Through its Domus Scholar Circle program, the Academy provides the unique opportunity for NCBA members to take unlimited CLE courses. The Academy also oversees the annual Hon. Elaine Jackson Stack Moot Court Competition for third year law students from area law schools.
Founded in 1899, the Nassau County Bar Association consists of private and public attorneys, judges, legal educators and law students who demonstrate their commitment to the community by offering a variety of services for the public, including lawyer referral services, mortgage foreclosure, Sandy Recovery and senior citizen clinics, judicial screening, public education programs and support for the Volunteer Lawyers Project, which provides much-needed free legal services for the indigent of Nassau County.
