(Long Island, NY) On Saturday, May 10, The Lupus Alliance of LIQ will be holding a 5K Run for Lupus at Central Islip High School, 85 Wheeler Rd, Central Islip. The race begins at 8:30am; race day registration begins at 7:15am. Pre-Race packet pick-up will be held on Friday May 9th, at the Central Islip High School gym. The race is 3.1 miles, USATF sanctioned and professionally timed by Just Finish, Inc. with the RFID Race Timing Systems, disposable chip timing.
Awards will be given out for the overall top male and female and the top 3 runners in the following age group categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over. You can take advantage of early bird registration for $20pp if you pre-register before 4/23/2014. Registrations made between 4/24/2014 – 5/8/2014 will be $25pp and race day registration will be $30pp, walkers are also welcome.

The Lupus Alliance of LIQ, is a local 501 (c)3 dedicated to improving the lives of those living with lupus through awareness, education, patient services and research. The only lupus agency on Long Island, they offer support groups, educational seminars, financial assistance, counseling and more. The proceeds from this event will help fund novel research into the cause and cure for lupus as well as support those living with this debilitating disease that has no cure.
