(Long Island, NY) Le Petit Salon de Musique begins its sixth season on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. by highlighting an exciting classical trio from Long Island. The Amanti Trio includes clarinetist Kenneth Borrmann, cellist Stephanie Iovine, and pianist Doris Anne McMullen. Le Petit Salon de Musique’s fifth season (2010-2015) was its most successful yet, with total attendance of over 2,100 people at 28 extraordinary performances. Created in 2010, the new classical music venue has built a strong following on Suffolk County’s North Shore. Hosting the Amanti Trio is a fitting way to begin a sixth season schedule of local, regional, and national classical music performers.
Clarinetist Kenneth Borrmann is a native Long Islander who actively performs with the Sound Symphony, The Gateway Theatre, and the Dixie band “Maintenance and Repair”. Kenn is also an All-State adjudicator for the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA). Stephanie Iovine is an exceptional cellist and a New York native, who received her B.A. from SUNY Stony Brook. Since moving to Long Island in 1994, Ms. Iovine has performed with chamber groups and orchestras all over Long Island and serves as principal cellist for the Hampton Chamber Orchestra and the St. Martin’s Symphony Orchestra in Amityville. Doris Anne McMullen holds a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from Stony Brook University. Her live and taped radio concerts have been broadcast on New York stations and on the BBC.
In keeping with the exuberance of a new season, the trio will perform the magnificent Rachmaninov Cello and Piano Sonata in all its passionate glory and Beethoven’s spirited “Gassenhauer” Trio, op.11 as well as other works.
Tickets for this event are $20 at the door or $15 online at www.lepetitsalon.org. Tickets for seniors are $15 at the door or $10 online and for students are $5.
