Before moving to the United States to pursue further musical education and training, Hsin-Chiao Liao had already received national recognition and awards in her native Taiwan. She won First Prize at the Kawai International Piano Competition, TCSSH Concerto Competition, and the HTK Music Competition for Talented Youth.
Since coming to this country, she has appeared as a recitalist, chamber musician, and collaborative artist in venues and festivals across the US and Asia. In addition to her love of the classics, Hsin-Chiao is an advocate of new music and has participated in the Contemporary Chamber Players at Stony Brook University on numerous occasions.
Her musical partner Phuc Phan, has traveled and enjoyed successes in many different parts of the world as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestra member. Since completing a performance degree at the Vietnam National Institute of Music, notable performances include collaborations with members of the Emerson String Quartet, bassoonist Frank Morelli and cellist Colin Carr.
