Get it while it’s Hot! Long Island Family Festival Is Looking for the Ultimate Pizza Eating Champion
(Long Island, NY) Can you eat 1 slice, 2 slices, 3 slices or more? If you’re up for the challenge come join us at the Pizza Eating Contest during the 6th Annual Long Island Family Festival. The LI Family Festival Pizza Easting Contest, sponsored by Joe’s Pizza, will be serving up fresh pies on Saturday, September 14, and Sunday, September 15, at 4pm. Competitors will gather at the LI Family Festival Community Stage by 3:30pm for registration.
The race is on! Eat a pie as fast as you can! The contestant who finishes the pie first is declared the LI Family Festival Pizza Eating Contest Champion for the day!
The delicious pizza pies used in this contest are provided by Joe’s Pizza (located at 88 Montauk Highway, Copiague) which, as his company motto says, provides “the best piece in town!” Admission to the contest is free.
The Long Island Family Festival is an annual tradition for Copiague and the Town of Babylon. This fun-filled family festival will take place on Friday, September 13 from 6-10 p.m. (featuring live music, food and carnival), Saturday, September 14 from 11:00 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday, September 15 from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. (live music, food, carnival, vendors) along the seaside beach at Babylon’s beautiful Tanner Park in Copiague. Admission to the Festival is free.
During this exciting weekend, Tanner Park will be magically transformed into a fun-filled family venue with plenty of exciting entertainment, events and surprises. Weekend highlights include:
- An exhilarating carnival with lots of rides for children of all ages
- Live musical entertainment
- Evening Concerts featuring Full House (Fri, 5:30 pm) and Breakdown: Long Island’s Ultimate Tom Petty Tribute Band (Sat, 7 pm)
- The “Ocean View Craft & Gift Show” (Saturday and Sunday)
- Pet Expo in the Park with Pet Pavilion and Dog Performance Arena
- Corky’s International Canine Haute Couture Fashion Show (Sat, 2pm)
- Tanner Park Beach Car Cruise – Long Island’s Hottest Car Show
- Ye Pyrate Brotherhood – Pirates will be stepping ashore at the Festival throughout the weekend
- Magical Show with Magician John Reid
- Inflated Balloon Fashion Show -One-of-a-kind fashion show featuring custom balloon clothing created by Balloon Fashion Designer John Reid and his team
