(Long Island, NY) Two unique presentations will be given at WMHO’s Summer Exhibit “America’s Love Affair with the Motorcycle…Continues” on the beloved movies and music associated with this national pastime.
Jeffrey James, President, Jeffrey James Arts Consulting (who has represented and worked with composers, instrumentalists, orchestras and arts-related organizations throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America) will present Music & Motorcycles, 2 pm on August 8 and Movies & Motorcycles, 2 pm on August 22. He will discuss a variety of information as it relates to the subjects, including the music of Bon Jovi and Judas Priest; the top ten Harley Davidson films; the 1924 Buster Keaton film, Sherlock Jr. and other significant movies such asThe Great Escape from 1963 and Easy Rider from 1969.
James was Operations Manager for Long Island’s Nassau Symphony Orchestra and is the Executive Director of the Vakhtang Jordania International Conducting Competition. He is President of 4Tay Records and created ClassicalCDs.net, an Internet-based sales outlet for independent CD companies. Locally, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Nassau Symphony Orchestra, the American Chamber Ensemble, the Gemini Youth Symphony and the LI Arts Council at Freeport to name a few, and he currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.
The exhibit and forums take place at WMHO’s Educational & Cultural Center, 97P Main Street, Stony Brook and is open 7 days a week, 10 am to 5 pm now through September 7. General Admission is $5 pp, Children under 12 are $3 pp. Visitors can also enjoy over 50 bikes on display as well as a host of all new vintage collections, memorabilia, artwork and sculptures.
