(RONKONKOMA, NY) Long Island Firearms in conjunction with the Long Island Second Amendment Preservation Association, is holding our 4th Annual ‘Keep Long Island Warm’ Coat Drive.
We are again coming together to aid the coat drive that is being done by Long Island Cares and the Harry Chapin Food Bank, in partnership with the Burlington Coat Factory.
Also aiding in this effort is a company called ‘One Warm Coat’. A national company who offers help in organizing and promoting coat drives throughout the country.
The outpouring of support between the thousands of members during these hard times is amazing, says Steven Blair, administrator of Long Island Firearms. What better way to give back locally than to provide warmth to another fellow Long Islander. We hope to raise more than last year. “And I know we can do it!” –says Steven.
With our members generous help, last year we were able to collect over 1700 coats. Bringing the total for our last 3 coat drives to over an amazing ‘3200’ coats, that were cleaned and distributed to families in need throughout Long Island at no charge.
With the economy still struggling, and many Long Islander’s still trying to recover from the devastation done by Hurricane Sandy last year, many families are turning to organizations like Long Island Cares and the Harry Chapin Food Bank for help.
With the help from the community and our members we are hoping to have an even more successful drive than we had last year, and be able to provide many grateful Long Island men, women and children with some warm clothing they may not otherwise be able to obtain.
“What better way to help a fellow Long Islander this winter than to provide them with warmth. Our goal is to help provide any person in need with a warm coat free of charge.”
With the help of our sponsors and members we once again have many convenient drop off locations from one end of the island to the other. Making it very easy to donate to this worthy cause.
