(Long Island, NY) Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York, which serves children, families and developmentally disabled adults in need across New York City and Long Island, has been fortunate enough to receive the support of the Long Island Harley Owners Group (LI HOGs) for over 20 years.
Little Flower is thrilled to continue this great tradition by welcoming the LI HOGs to our Wading River Campus on Sunday, December 1, 2013.
In what has come to be known as Little Flower’s “Unofficial Kick-Off to the Holiday Season” and Long Island’s longest and oldest toy run, the LI HOGs, after riding for over 25 miles, arrive in formation all the way from Babylon Town Hall. This annual ride is led by none other than Santa himself followed by a parade of bikes filled with presents for the children on the campus.
“We look forward to hosting the HOGS every year and can’t wait to see them coming down our campus driveway again! They always bring with them holiday cheer and wonderful presents for the children and adults on campus, showing them that they truly do have angels watching over them” said Executive Director, Grace G. Lo Grande.
For over 80 years Little Flower has been guided by the mission to provide hope and help to thousands of people every year. In 2012 Little Flower managed 59 successful adoptions of children into new families, served 1,531 children in loving foster families, cared for 148 children in the Residential Treatment and Respite Centers, helped 259 children return to their own families, assisted 55 young adults to begin life on their own, and helped 201 adults with developmental disabilities to lead more rewarding lives.
