(Long Island, NY) Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R, C, I – South Huntington) recently joined the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) and the Department of Energy for a “Milestone” announcement. Lupinacci, along with other elected officials, was present for the announcement of a new collaboration between the IACMI and the Department of Energy, which would bring $289 million to composite materials and technologies on Long Island, geared towards bringing new products to the marketplace.
“I am proud to be here for this monumental announcement, as this new collaboration will bring millions of dollars to Long Island and allow our area to lead the way in the emerging field of composite materials and technologies,” Lupinacci began. “I am honored to support this historic agreement and stand here as witness to Long Island truly leading the way for the future of our manufacturing industry,” Lupinacci continued.

Also, this announcement included a significant increase in private funding for research in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education field.
“STEM education and research is the future of Long Island and New York State. Advancements in these fields will not only bring jobs to Long Island, but will also help our region modernize its energy infrastructure in an environmentally efficient way,” Lupinacci said when commenting on this private funding increase. “As the Ranking Member on Higher Education, I applaud these groups for recognizing that STEM education is a strong and stable investment. I will certainly continue to support policies which embrace STEM education on Long Island and New York State,” Lupinacci concluded.
