(Long Island, NY) Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-Huntington Station) recently joined the North Shore Land Alliance, the Peconic Land Trust and ExxonMobil to celebrate the conservation and restoration of an eight acre waterfront site on Shore Road in Cold Spring Harbor. The property is part of the Cold Spring Harbor/Oyster Bay estuary, one of the 10 most endangered estuaries in America.

“Long Islanders have always been defined by their relationship with the water and the long-term commitment made to the preservation of our waterfront property continues this important relationship,” said Lupinacci. “The generous donation from ExxonMobil means this property, which was inactive, will now be used to enhance the quality of life for this fragile coastal area. I look forward to seeing this area as it is restored to its native grassland and shorebird habitat.”
The area includes four acres of newly-planted maritime grassland, one acre of tidal marsh and three acres of benthic habitat in the Cold Spring Harbor/Oyster Bay estuary.
